The PADI Seal Team is for young scuba divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by completing exciting AquaMissions. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to dive with flashlights, take digital pictures underwater or float effortlessly like an astronaut? Beyond learning basic scuba skills, there are specialty AquaMissions, such as wreck diving, navigation, buoyancy, environmental awareness and more. PADI Seal Team includes doing some cool stuff in the pool, meeting friends and sharing in the adventure of the underwater world.
Who Should Take This Course? Anyone ages 8-12 are welcome to participate in the course. No previous experience with scuba diving is necessary; however, adequate swimming skills are highly recommended. About the Course Participants will learn about the world of scuba diving in a safe and controlled environment that is chalked full of fun. After learning the basics, children participate in aqua missions that range from searching for lost object in a sunken ship to rescuing a fellow diver. There are two levels of certification:
- PADI Seal Team Member- Complete 5 aqua missions such as breathing underwater and recovering a lost regulator. Each aqua mission takes about an hour and are split up over the spans of the week-long camp.
- PADI Master Seal Team Member- Complete 10 specialty aqua missions such as creature identification and search and recovery. Each aqua mission takes about an hour and are split up over the spans of the week-long camp. Only 5 aqua missions are offered each week so in order to attain Master status, children must attend two Master Seal Team Member training camps.
